Can't be a stemi if they are dead!

Nothing irritates me more than NOT letting a dead person die.

Many years ago, they admitted a patient to me after he arrested at home. The patient's family did nothing for 20 minutes. EMS came and began cpr and acls. Patient coded in ER for about 30 minutes. Then the genius ER doc gets and ekg and calls a stemi. After they cath him and find nothing, they admit him to me. (do you think epinephrine may have something to do with the stemi?)

What the hell? Can't we just let people die? He is dead! The cath lab isn't going to bring him back. Sometimes I wonder if we should get rid of all ER doctors and just hire nurses. At least they listen.
